Step into 45 White Oak in Wellesley Massachusetts. Once inside you will find a home defined by elegant precision, mixing clean modern details with premium quality traditional materials. Single-source white oak flows continuously throughout the home, and raw lime plaster walls provide a breathable, soft atmosphere brimming with unique character. To enhance this serene, luxurious ambience, EZ Concept® trimless finishing systems were used throughout.
The 7,200 square foot build boasts 5 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, and an expansive 3-car garage, all set on a large 0.59-acre block, blanketed in mature trees. The stunning home is the result of a close collaboration between Nick Schiffer of NS Builders and Vincent Appel from Of Possible Architecture. Each detail speaks of tasteful luxury and intentionality, demonstrating careful pre-empting of the needs and desires of the future homeowner, and the true craftsmanship involved in creating a build of this calibre.
Redefining Builder Grade
Nick Schiffer’s intention with this home was to ‘redefine builder grade.’ Instead of using low-quality, low-cost materials to maximize returns, as is often expected of the term ‘builder grade,’ this home is a gallery, exhibiting luxury finishes, and creating a premium living experience. 45 White Oak is built to passive house standards, ensuring minimal ongoing environmental impact, and demonstrating the strict attention-to-detail provided to each and every finish, from the triple glazed windows to the solid-core doors from EZ Concept. The result is a home which truly demonstrates the master craftmanship which has come to be associated with NS Builders’ work. In this project ‘builder grade’ is synonymous with artistry and expertise.
Intentional Interiors with The Door Suite
Intentionality in every detail was of highest importance throughout this build, which is why the EZ Concept Door Suite was used throughout the entire second floor. Full-height EzyJamb® Single Rabbet trimless door jambs highlight the expansive 12-foot ceilings, allowing for seamless passage, and visual continuity throughout the space.
As you look through these spaces, each door swings against the ceiling.

To fit seamlessly with the custom full-height EzyJamb profiles, EzyDor® flush doors, and RocYork® mortised hinges were also specified. These elements combine to create cohesive and precise single-source floor-to-ceiling door openings, free of trims and casings. Both the door and jamb were custom made in America to precise tolerances and were routed by EZ Concept to suit the high-quality RocYork mortise hinges, ensuring an easy and seamless installation on site.
Seamless Continuity with Floor-to-Ceiling EzyJamb Frames
Creating clean lines and open flowing spaces are at the foundation of EZ Concept’s philosophy. EzyJamb hidden door jambs allowed NS Builders to achieve this effect throughout the second floor. The hallways flow seamlessly into each room, uninterrupted by bulky trim. The full-height detail means that the doors swing against the ceiling, providing continuous flow.
Every detail is intentional.
NS Builders
The EzyJamb Single Rabbet trimless door frames are made custom for each opening. With a single rabbet on one side, these jambs allow the door to sit completely flush with the wall on the other, enhancing the home’s elevated simplicity. EzyJamb frames are manufactured locally in Webster, New York from high-quality galvanized steel. Prepped in advance with the necessary routing, they provided both the desired convenience and streamlined aesthetics needed for this project.
Durable Excellence with EzyDor Solid-Core Doors
Premium doors make a space feel complete. Doors require constant use, which enhances the importance of them being premium, heavy, and of high-quality. EzyDor is EZ Concept’s range of solid-core doors, ideal for pairing with EzyJamb frames. They were used throughout the build to ensure the luxury finishes extended to the home’s door openings. Each door was mudded using the same raw plaster as the surrounding walls, ensuring the finish was consistent, and visually and texturally seamless.
Premium-Quality Hardware with the RocYork Range
To suit the heavy, solid-core doors, the openings required high-quality, durable door hardware. RocYork mortise hinges are made from premium stainless steel, designed specifically to integrate with EzyJamb frames and EzyDor doors. The stainless-steel finish aligns perfectly with the other hardware throughout the home.
